“Sweet Caroline, ♫ ♪ ♫, good times never felt so good, SO GOOD, SO GOOD, SO GOOD!”
Times are much better than good in Red Sox Nation…. They are GRRREAT! So great, in fact, that rumor has it Neil Diamond is thinking of changing the lyric to “great”! Boston fans spent 86 consecutive Aprils wondering if and hoping that THIS was going to be THE year. The year to put to bed all the curse talk. The year they could tear up those “1918” signs that drape the rafters at Yankee Stadium. The year they could once again call themselves “champions of baseball”. But by the time the 2004 season arrived, some fans wondered if THE year would ever come. Then, down three games to zero to the Yankees in the ALCS, something happened. Something magical. Something unexplainable. Ever seen the movie “Angels in the Outfield”? Well ok, maybe not THAT extreme, but most Red Sox fans know of at least one angel looking down on his beloved team in those final eight games. A man who wore the number 9, in case you were wondering.
This site is here for all Red Sox fans to enjoy. Feel free to browse around and read up on not just the Red Sox, but all the news and events happening around the A.L. East. The Boston Red Sox got the job done in 2004. And while no World Series Title would be as special and memorable as that one, the Red Sox sure didn’t disappoint in the 2007 Series either. They may have fallen short of the championship in 2008, but 2009 is a new year… THE year!
